Emission- free Commuting and Bike to school days

Emission-free Commuting and Bike to School Days 5-11 June 2023 is the 100th annual Bike Week when Cycling UK encourages us all to keep the car at home and bike to work or school. Transport is responsible for nearly one quarter of all UK emissions - Cycling and walking encourage productivity and well being and reduce congestion and emissions - they are good for us and good for the environment. On 9 June there will be a Bike to School Day for Bolham pupils. They will be gathering at the Leisure Centre, and biking to school. This is possible through the initiative of the school and many volunteer helpers. Some ST volunteers will be there to see them off at the start- do come along and join us This is a pilot project. We would love to make it possible for more of our young people to regularly use healthy and planet-friendly options to get to school, and encourage sustainable commuting for everyone in our area. If you work in a local school or can organise a bike to work event, find ideas to try out at https://www.cyclinguk.org/bikeweek or at https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/projects/uk-wide/schools/sustrans-big-walk-and-wheel
