ECOE Advice - a registered charity - will help more Mid Devon households to save energy, cut bills and cut carbon thanks to a new Council-funded partnership project, Energy Boost Mid Devon.

Tara Bowers, CEO at ECOE Advice said:

“We’re delighted to support Energy Boost Mid Devon this year, to help more homes reduce their carbon footprint and save money on energy bills. We’ve been delivering advice in the district since 2018, and this year we’ll be adding more focus to retrofit advice.”

Councillor Natasha Bradshaw, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change said:

“ECOE Advice provide a trusted service offering free helpline, community workshops and home visits. This year they can support even more Mid Devon residents to save on home energy and enjoy healthy homes. Those keen to explore retrofit can get whole-home assessments and specialist guidance.”

Energy Boost Mid Devon is funded by £45,000 from the Council’s climate change and sustainability budget and also provides a £15,000 Energy Efficiency Fund to help those who can least afford the home improvements.

The scheme delivers on Mid Devon District Council’s corporate plan aim to support the district’s response to the climate emergency. Their climate change strategy ‘healthy homes’ theme champions the health and social benefits of net-zero design for new homes, and encourages investment in home energy efficiency improvements and retrofit to move away from fossil fuels and towards low-carbon technology.
