Mid Devon Tree Warden Group

About the network
The Mid Devon Tree Warden Group has been set up to promote trees, hedges and wider environment in the district by supporting residents and community groups though a network Tree Warden volunteers. Every parish in Mid Devon would benefit from a volunteer or several volunteers to raise awareness of the value of trees in the local community and to encourage people to look after trees carefully, often doing this in conjunction with the parish council.
Depending on time commitments, a tree warden can be as active as much as they can manage. Tree wardens are encouraged to maintain close links with other parishes in the district and to maintain close links with the District Council Tree Officers who can provide information about tree management, law and protection and data about which trees are protected.
The Mid Devon Tree Warden Group aims to provide:
- A proven method of Community engagement
- A co-ordinated force of volunteers who are committed to the care and awareness of trees in their neighbourhoods
- Undertake various projects in relation to trees in the local community.
