Scorecards progress 2025
You may have noticed Council Climate Scorecards in the news, which saw MDDC scores improve, now in the top 20% of district and city councils! Our score of 44 was up by 16 points since last time. This was an encouraging result, but we need to remember this was a somewhat subjective survey, and there is always more for us to achieve.
Soon the Council will publish an annual carbon footprint report - an independent analysis of the Council's climate impact, carried out by the Centre for Energy and the Environment (University of Exeter). Previous results online. Decarbonised heating at the leisure centres will have made a big difference, and every little helps, even the LED lightbulbs at Phoenix House.
