Discover a new series of webinars by Future Plymouth 2030 and a whole collection of previously recorded sessions! 

The Future Plymouth 2030 webinar series intend to discuss collaborative journeys required to achieve reduced carbon development, presenting some of the tools necessary to realise a sustainable city and help to define a better path for a viable future for Plymouth.

One of the Retrofit Academy team joined us to discuss the challenges and issues of making existing buildings perform better, and how getting certified as a Retrofit Assessor can support this effort.

  • Doug Eltham from Devon County Council and the Devon Climate Emergency updated us on the outcomes of the Citizen’s Assembly with a particular focus on the desire to retrofit our existing building stock.
  • Claire Pearce from the Low Carbon Devon team at the University of Plymouth and architect. 
  • Nadine Wolz talked us through the highly successful retrofit of the Sustainability Hub building to the highest retrofit SKA Gold rating which was ERDF funded.

Countryside COP 2021

Uniting Rural Communities to Tackle Climate Change

The Rural Services Network hosted a free online event on Tuesday, 12th October from 13:30-15:30 focusing on Uniting Rural Communities to Tackle Climate Change. Ways that rural communities can work together to tackle climate change and play a key role in the drive towards net-zero. This event formed part of the wider Countryside COP which aimed to create space ahead of UK COP26 for the UK’s rural community to take centre stage, highlight our priorities and showcase our contribution to a just and equitable resilient net zero economy. Taking place from 11th to 15th October, the programme brings together events focused on the countryside and rural community, all under the Countryside COP banner.
